Attention: Wednesday lab students

Somehow, some way, we've ended up with too many students in your lab. Is there someone who might like to change to the Thursday lab time, which is 2 p.m.? If so, please email me (email address is on your syllabus), to let me know if it might work for you. Thanks!

About those quizzes . . .

You'll have two quizzes (or one mega-quiz) at the beginning of week 7, after I meet with you during week 6. The first part of the quiz will be over the first half of the Non-Designer's Design Book, which covers the principles of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity (yes, that spells CRAP). If I were you, I'd try to read the first half of that book over the next few weeks, do the quizzes at the end of each chapter, and complete the review.

Really, the book is a fast and interesting read--just take it with you when you have to wait for something, and you'll fly through it.

The second part of the quiz will be over the second half of the book, which focuses on typeface/fonts and design. I'll give you a reminder around about week 4 to study this part of the book. We'll discuss the book during our meeting during week 6, then you'll have the quizzes.
